Fly by night companies remain in business and change their names frequently thus avoiding long term problems and future service.

Remember, companies with proven track records will not work for the same price as start-ups, sham-artists, and small operators off the back of their pick-up trucks. You get what you pay for and contracting is not something you want to do twice on one project. Always avoid out-of-state contractors. Many of the state laws that protect you may not be valid in some situations and getting future service may become a complicated problem.

The impression you get from your estimator or sales rep will often be a reflection of how good the work will be. That person that’s sitting in front of you asking for your money should know what they are talking about. If they don’t, there’s probably a good reason.
